festa 206 Posted September 29, 2009 Report Share Posted September 29, 2009 hey guys its a late 1 so this will be short lol decided to have a run out on the new ground that mr zini aquired for us arrived around 6ish to find a few bunnies kicking it back in the sun yes that right i said sun so we parked the van up and went and had a word with the farmer to let him know we were on the ground,, so had gun will walk was the plan (well for me it was ) zini had gun and hobbled the first wonder didnt turn up much as it was still a little bright but it gave me an idea of the ground before it got dark got back to the van about an hour later so mr z could rest his poor foot (give the lad his due the state of his ankle im supprised he made it ) while we waited for the darkness to fall we got the lamps ready then the fun begun 1st bunny sat in the stubble about 30mtrs i just settled into the shot when it decided to make things a little better as it started to run towards us must of been some new rabbit tactic but sadly pop took it in the head and back flipped 1 for 1 ... 2nd rabbit in the next field just lay there i didnt know rabbits could lie that flat it was about 20mtrs if that and the pro sport took its 2nd victim 2 for 2 ... and off we went around the big top field unfortunatly zini twisted his already bad ankle you could hear him swearing under his breath so we made are way back to the van and just happened to come across another sitting in the bottom field so it was rude not to another 30mtr shot and 3 for 3 .... zini was in some pain so we called it a night si mate i hope ur ok giz a shout if you need a hand with owt .... after i dropped zini off i met up with another good lad off here to look at his permission to see if we could help him out on there but thats another story for another day cheers lads gary Quote Link to post

zini 1,939 Posted September 30, 2009 Report Share Posted September 30, 2009 Good write up Festa and that was some good shooting last night from you fella. 3 for 3 and 2 of them were long 30 metre bunnies with nothing to rest on. They were shot due to share marksmanship. After some strong pain killers and a good nights rest my ankle feels better this morning mate.
